Hood up and bucket swinging, your child sets out on their very first trick-or-treat alone, determined to find the Pumpkin Bear. At the first door, a pumpkin has a big bite out of it, and a little bee hands over a golden pumpkin candy the bear left behind. “Follow the bites.” From porch to porch the trail goes on - a pumpkin still rocking here, a low thump there - always one step behind. And when the bear finally turns around under the moon, the face under the hood is the best surprise of the night.

  • Parent value - A gently spooky story about a big first step: going out on their own, a little nervous and very brave, and finding out that the people who love them are never far away.
  • Child takeaway - I can go first, even when it’s a little bit spooky, and I’m never really alone.

Our goal is for every customer to be totally satisfied with their purchase. If this isn't the case, let us know and we'll do our best to work with you to make it right.

How the magic happens
  1. Upload a photo. Every Blankie story begins with your favorite picture of your little one.
  2. We add a sprinkle of imagination. The real child becomes the storybook hero, name on the cover and all.
  3. The adventure begins. Page by page they are brave, kind and curious, learning life's gentle lessons along the way.

Loved by our customers

“Follow the bites! Henry made us walk our whole street looking for pumpkins with a bite out of them. Best Halloween yet.”
“It's spooky enough to feel exciting and not one bit nightmare material. The Pumpkin Bear reveal got a huge laugh.”
“Her first trick-or-treat without holding my hand was this year. Reading this the week before made her the brave one in the story first.”
“The bee mom whispering 'follow the bites' is my son's favorite line. He says it in a tiny voice. Every. Time.”
“We're a Halloween-obsessed house. This is the first personalized book that actually feels like Halloween and not a lecture.”
“Hood pulled snug, bucket getting heavier - the details are so right. And it's my Max on every porch.”
“'I can go first even when I'm a tiny bit wobbly.' My daughter repeated that on her first day of preschool. A Halloween book did that.”
“Gift from her uncle, who wrote a spooky dedication in a bear voice. She makes me read that page first.”
